We Did It!
M and I are relaxing in Millinocket, ME, after climbing Mt. Katahdin yesterday, completing our 2,174 mile thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail. The weather was clear and calm for the summit and we have terrific pictures. Thanks for all the support we've received in person and from afar!
A shout-out to Doug, who offered us a ride from Baxter State Park to town the minute we stepped off the trailhead. Have a great weekend hiking!
Now we are tackling our next challenge...how to get from rural Maine back to Pittsburgh.
More detailed information and photos will follow....stay tuned.

You missed the first big game but the Steelers really dominated Cleveland. Now, get back here so we can cheer together for the rest of the football season! Love, Mum
Wow K & M,
Bittersweet for me. On the one hand I'm very happy for you and proud of your journey. On the other hand I'm really going to miss reading this blog and looking at the amazing pictures. Aunt Donna and I will be in Pittsburgh on Sat 9/22. Perhaps our trails will cross :o)

Congratulations!
You two are fast hikers. Mark, I won't forget how many time I heard from you, "We (You and K) need to get serious about this hiking thing." I think the last time I heard it was in Kent, CT, as we were killing time having lunch on the hottest day of the year.
